As I prepare my posts from the most recent All Space Considered, the ESA has released news that
Philae is awake! I simply can not contain my joy, despite not knowing what data Philae has sent back. As yet, there are no details, but I nonetheless rejoice.
Philae was a lander deployed by the
Rosetta mission to study comet 67/P, Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Simply getting Rosetta into orbit around the tiny gravity of a comet was quite a smashing success. Being able to deploy Philae onto the comet's surface is nothing short of miraculous.
